What is your role at Ovington Boats?

I’m part of the sales team at Ovington Boats, looking after sales and customer support for our international classes, including the 29er, Musto Skiff and a few others. Day to day, that means helping people choose the right boat, answering technical questions and supporting events throughout the season. I really enjoy working with sailors and class associations and helping people get the most out of their boats.

How long have you been with Ovington?

I joined Ovington Boats in August 2025. Before that, I worked as a sailmaker for a number of companies around the world, which gave me plenty of experience both on and off the water. It’s been great to bring that experience into my role at Ovington.

 

 

What was your most recent event?

The most recent event I attended was the Musto Skiff World Championships in Carnac, France. It was a pretty special week because I wasn’t just there supporting the class—I was racing as well.

I was lucky enough to come away with the World Championship title, which is something I’ve worked towards for a long time. It was a brilliant week, and being able to represent Ovington Boats while competing made it even more memorable.

My favourite part of working in the industry is definitely the people you meet. Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to meet some incredible people who are not only hugely knowledgeable but also incredibly passionate about our sport. That enthusiasm is infectious, and there’s always something new to learn from the people around you. Whether it’s sharing experiences on the water or hearing different perspectives, the sailing community is full of people who inspire you to keep improving and enjoying the sport.

What is your favourite venue to sail at?

I’ve been lucky enough to sail at some amazing venues around the world, including Sydney Harbour, Auckland and Lake Garda, so choosing just one is difficult. If I had to pick, though, I’d say Sydney Harbour. It’s not necessarily because it’s the best sailing venue in the world, but because it’s one of the most exciting and chaotic race tracks I’ve ever competed on and there is always something happening. It keeps you on your toes and makes every race a real challenge, which is what makes it so memorable.

How old were you when you started sailing?

I started sailing before I can even remember! Sailing has always been a big part of my family. My grandad and dad both sailed, so growing up around boats and being on the water was completely natural. I was introduced to the sport from a very young age and have been involved ever since. Looking back, it was almost inevitable that I would follow in their footsteps, and I’m grateful that I did.

Which classes will you be supporting this summer?

It’s looking like a busy summer. I’ll be supporting the 29er, Phantom and Musto Skiff classes at events throughout the remainder of the season.

For the 29er, I’ll be at the EuroCup, the World Championships in Kiel and the UK National Championships in August. I’ll also be supporting the Phantom and Musto Skiff National Championships later in the year. I will be driving out to Aarhus, Denmark with three boats ready for the ILCA 4/6 Youth World Championships.
