It has been announced that the Youth Sailing World Championships will be held in Oman in 2021. The event has been scheduled from 11-18 December 2021 and will be held at the top-class sporting venue, Mussanah Sports City.
Mussanah Sports City boasts high-quality sailing conditions year-round, and temperatures in December are expected to be around 24C with average wind speeds of 10-17 knots. The venue has been host to many Olympic-class sailing events including the RS:X World Championships in 2015.
“The Youth Worlds also allows young sailors to learn about the importance of sport and fair competition, and to forge lifelong friendships with like-minded people from all corners of the globe. It is a hugely important event on our calendar, and it is with great pleasure that we can announce this year’s hosts. I am confident that Oman Sail will put on a fantastic show,” said World Sailing President, Quanhai Li.
