Flying Fifteen

AN EXCITING, RACING KEELBOAT

The Flying 15 is a 2 person, planning keelboat sailed worldwide. The first F15 World Championships was held in 1979 and the last 2 have been won by our own Chris Turner sailing with Graham Vials at Hayling Island in 2011 and again in Hong Kong in 2013.

The boat has been modernised over the years with Uffa Fox agreeing to changes towards the end of his life to improve the design specification and sail plan. In 2006 we designed and built a new deck mould to improve the ergonomics and simplify fit-out and in 2012 we built another new mould and now offer a choice of non-slip on the foredeck. Most sailors choose to upgrade to having a carbon hull which makes the boat stiffer for longer.

Boats are supplied as finished hulls with or without keels for home fit-out or completion by a small number of dealers – typically Pinnell & Bax or Phil Evans.
