The new style musto skiff main comes with as a square top, fully battened sail.
About the new mainsail X design
The Musto Skiff X reduces the mainsail size by around 2sqm, to 9.77sqm, meaning the optimum sailor weight moves down to range of 50 – 80kg. Feedback from extensive sail testing is that the boat becomes far more manageable for lighter weight sailors and is considerably easier to gybe in heavy winds when learning.
No further hardware changes are necessary to use the small sail. The same spars, rigging and spinnaker are used meaning all current boats can be used with the small sail, meaning this new arm of the class remains very accessible.
