29er Parts
Ovington Boats offer a fully stocked, comprehensive range of all 29er parts. This can be anything from new mast sections and sails, down to gaskets and small fittings. If you can’t find the fitting you need, get in touch with the Ovington team and we’d be happy to help you. The 29er is a true high performance skiff. A two person, single trapeze dinghy with an asymmetric spinnaker and a lightweight hull. It was designed by Australian skiff legend, Julian Bethwaite with a team of internationally recognised dinghy sailors including Dave Ovington. The boats are durable, well equipped and fully competitive straight out of the box. The rig is pure skiff, fully battened sails with a self-tacking jib, supported on a composite tipped mast that gives the ultimate in gust response and acceleration. Combine this with the asymmetric spinnaker and you’ll discover the 29er is pure dynamite downwind. Other features include a mainsail cuff to increase sail efficiency, a ram kicker/ vang, moulded foot rails and an enclosed transom.

Offering performance, excitement and spectacle together with the unmatched ferocity of competition only generated in Olympic fleets. The hull designed by Julian Bethwaite is lightweight and offers minimal resistance. It has no noticeable speed hump unlike other boats at the time. The most noticeable feature of the 49er is the solid wings. These make the boat easier to sail and generates massive righting moment. The 49er adopted a new sail plan and full carbon mast in 2008 which has enabled the boat to stay in line with modern developments in rig design.

49er FX Parts

The FX is the new Olympic skiff for women which made its debut at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. It shares the same platform as the 49er but with different mast and sails. The new FX sailplan has been carefully designed by North Sails using ideas from America’s Cup and 18ft skiff designs. These efficient upwind sails and new spinnaker design allow the FX to compete with the larger 49er in most conditions.

It has annual World Championship with turn outs of over 100 boats. The light weight hull is easily driven and powered by a laminate mainsail and asymmetric spinnaker. The wide racks provide plenty of leverage and give a wide competitive sailor weight range.

Int. 14 Parts
Ovington Boats offer a fully stocked, comprehensive range of all International 14 parts. This can be anything from new masts and foils, down to ropes and small fittings. The International 14 is a 14 foot twin trapeze racing dinghy sailed in many countries around the world. It is a development class being controlled by a set of international rules. This allows innovation and changes in hull and rig as long as they fall within a set of specific limitations. The class has permitted its rules to be revised at various times in its history in order to keep the class at the forefront of dinghy racing development. Modern boats weigh little, have unlimited spinnaker size, square top fully battened mainsail, adjustable carbon rig and a hydrofoil rudder. Ovington Boats has a long history of building the International 14 along with Chris Turner who joined in 2005. We are building boats to the latest Beiker 6 design.

K1 Parts
The K1 single-handed performance keelboat heralds a new era of single-handed sailing; combining speed, style and ease of sailing. This unique mini yacht has a lifting keel with bulb weighing 60kg yet its all-up weight is little more than a conventional single-handed dinghy. The hull is constructed using the latest resin infusion techniques to minimize weight. The carbon spars are ultra light and responsive. The slender hull has little resistance when heeled so is quick and tacks through a very narrow angle. The self-tacking jib is set on a pole for maximum ease of control. The cockpit is deep and comfortable when sitting on the deck edge. The result is a boat that is an absolute joy to sail and guaranteed to provide effortless, fast sailing and close tactical racing.

VX One Parts
The VX One is a 2 to 3 person keelboat with a light, easily driven hull by an efficient sail plan set on a full carbon rig. The boat can be launched simply off a dinghy style trolley or craned in using a single point lifting strop. The off the boom mainsheet gives a huge uncluttered cockpit, whilst the self-tacking jib makes gybes easy when sailing 2 up. The jib furls for easy launching and recovery and for short-handed sailing or playing with the family. The spinnaker is launched using a single line hoist/ retrieval line making the process easy for anyone and a large chute mouth reduces friction.

F15 Parts
The Flying 15 is a 2 person, planning keelboat sailed worldwide. The first F15 World Championships was held in 1979 and the last 2 have been won by our own Chris Turner sailing with Graham Vials at Hayling Island in 2011 and again in Hong Kong in 2013. The boat has been modernised over the years with Uffa Fox agreeing to changes towards the end of his life to improve the deisgn specification and sail plan. In 2006 we designed and built a new deck mould to improve the ergonomics and simplify fit out and in 2012 we built another new mould and now offer a choice of non-slip on the foredeck. Most sailors choose to upgrade to having a carbon hull which makes the boat stiffer for longer. Boats are supplied as finished hulls with or without keels for home fit out or completion by a small number of dealers – typically Pinnell & Bax or Phil Evans.

CST Spars
CST Composites design and manufacture a full range of filament wound carbon fiber tubing. We have the capability to produce round, elliptical, foil, parallel and tapered tubing. Our standard range of tubing has many applications where high strenght and stiffness to weight properties are paramount. CST Spars currently stocked : Int 14, Contender, Moth, Phantom and VX Evo.

Over the years, CST Composites has had phenomenal success with the Elite mast range and booms.
